RA Klaus Sauerbier, LL.M.

Professional experience: Klaus has been heading the legal department of Outotec GmbH & Co. KG since 2008 and is a member of the Law Committee of the German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA). Since that year he also practices construction law in his own law office. 

Since 2001, Klaus has been working as inhouse counsel in the international project business, namely for the Lurgi group of companies and the Finnish Outotec and Metso Outotec group of companies, leading technology providers for the Metals & Mining sector worldwide.  Numerous assignments abroad took him to South America, the Middle East, Northern and Western Europe and India. 

Education: In 2020, Klaus finished a Postgraduate Diploma in International Construction Contracts at Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas as best of his class. He successfully attended the training courses as specialist for tax law and for construction law. 

In 1995, Klaus successfully completed the Master (LL.M.) study program “European Integration”, earning a Masters degree at the Europainstitut of Saarland University with a thesis on injunctive relief in arbitration. He concluded his mandatory legal clerkship with the Higher Regional Court (OLG) Frankfurt (2nd State Examination, 1997). 

Klaus Sauerbier studied law at the Universities of Passau, Santiago de Compostela (Spain) and Gießen (1st State Examination).
